"American Pie " Finally, a teen movie that breaks the genre paradigm.

By Ted Pfeifer

What has been called the "Porkys" of the nineties, "American Pie" can stand on its own. One warning up front is this movie is not for kids. The R rating is there for a reason.

The movie is about four high school buddies that make a pact to lose their virginity by the senior prom. There are disgusting jokes about any bodily function and fluid that you can think of. The thing that is good about this movie is that for once the actors in this actually look like they could be in high school.

Unlike so many other teen movies where the teens are played by people in their twenties. It also has a story that keeps the movie going, not just dead time between gags. "American Pie" is an extremely funny movie as long as you can stomach it.
