"Antitrust"
This
is a film that was made, advertised and the pulled from its
release schedule. When it finally came out it opened and went
away very quickly, which in my opinion will make it a great
rental.
Ryan Phillippe stars as an up and coming computer software
designer who is whisked away and bought and paid for by Tim
Robbins, who plays a Bill Gates type software company owner.
One thing leads to another and Phillippe finds out that things
are not as they seem. He does some investigating and low and
behold he is now in some real trouble. If this story sounds
familiar then you have probably seen "The Firm" or "The Devil's
Advocate". Both very good movies that kept the thrills coming
all through the movies.
"Antitrust" does the same thing, but the freshness of it is
the young cast which also includes Claire Forlani of "Meet
Joe Black" and Rachel Leigh Cook of "She's All That" and "Get
Carter", Phillippe delivers a believable performance as the
smart kid, who happens to be too smart. There are plenty of
twists and turns in the whole who can you trust world of big
company politics. Robbins plays his role much like that of
his character in the brilliant film "Arlington Road" and pulls
it off once again. He is becoming the new villain who you
can like.
"Antitrust" delivers a good time and stays away from dumbing
itself down and becoming just another teen thriller. Rent
this movie and you should not be disappointed.
