So after watching "The Bourne Identity" for two hours I found that I was entertained. I also found that nothing really happens in the movie, there just isn't very much there.

The film is directed by Doug Liman who previously brought us "Go" and "Swingers" and he has a talent. He knows how to use the camera to tell a story even if there isn't much of a story to tell.

"The Bourne Identity" is based on the book of the same name written by Robert Ludlum back in 1980. It tells the story of a spy who has lost his memory. The spies name is Jason Bourne and is played brilliantly by Matt Damon. Damon is an actor, he understands how to show emotion without going over the top, he can play soft and gentle as well as show the ruthlessness of a killer.

The film is all about Bourne trying to find out who he is and a Government group trying to track him down to kill him and make their lost spy problem go away. Bourne is off and running early and hooks up with Marie, played by Franka Potente of "Run, Lola, Run" (which is an amazing film, you should check it out on dvd). Jason and Marie head out on the road to try and find his identity as well as a new life for Marie.

Chris Cooper leads a pack of killers which include the BMW driving Clive Owen, of the BMW commercials and "Croupier". Cooper has his hands full with his boss played by Brian Cox who has to sit on a congressional oversight committee and explain why they are missing a spy. (at least I think so).

The problem with the film is that although the movie is entertaining there are a ton of plot holes and unanswered questions. Matt Damon and the rest of cast deliver such fine performances and Liman directs with such a soft and smooth touch that you feel good watching it.

It seems as though now is the perfect time for this movie to come out, after the power and thrust of "Spider-Man", "Attack of the Clones" and "The Sum of All Fears" it is nice to be able to go into an air-conditioned theatre and just relax.

The film works but I do have to say that...Matt Damon searches for his memory in "The Bourne Identity" and after a couple of months you will need to search your memory to recall "The Bourne Identity".
