"Charlie's Angels "

By Ted Pfeifer

They say Angels are only in heaven, but not any more. "Charlie's Angels" have landed on the big screen and have landed in a big way. Drew Barrymore produces and stars in this updated version of the hit 70's television show.

Bill Murray stars as Bosley, Drew is Dylan, Lucy Liu plays Alex and Cameron Diaz is Natalie. They all have special talents that they can call their own but they all share the ability to kick ass. The Angel's are called to find a kidnapped computer genius and then find his newest invention which had been stolen in the kidnapping. Of course, the Angels get themselves into trouble only to get out of it.

The supporting cast includes Tom Green, Matt Leblanc, Kelly Lynch, Luke Wilson and a great silent role for Crispin Glover. Bill Murray steals all of the scenes he is in as does Tom Green. The action is strong and powerful, there are techniques in the fighting scenes that you have seen in "The Matrix" and every other action movie since. These are not your parents Angel's, sure Jackson, Fawcett and Smith were attractive as are Barrymore, Liu and Diaz but they never had the moves that these new Angel's have.

If you have seen a trailer for this film and decide to go buy a ticket you will have a great time. If you don't like it then you have should have someone else decide for you the next time you want to go out. This movie is much like "Gone in 60 Seconds" the trailer tells you exactly what it is.

The reason the movie works is because they knew what they had and went with, they made it campy and fun and sexy and exciting.
