"Driven"

By Ted Pfeifer

You know how you sit and watch a movie and everything is going along fine until a scene comes on the screen that is so out of place you get thrown for a loop?

Well that happens in "Driven". The movie has a good set up and as it follows several Hollywood clichés it doesn't over do the cliché'.

Even though Sylvester Stallone wrote, produced and stars in this movie, it is not a Stallone film. He doesn't dominate the screen time, he doesn't over act and he doesn't pull a power trip. What he does do is play an Obi Won Kenobi type character, which could be his future.

The racing and driving scenes are the best ever done, the camera work is incredible and the editing is great.

The cast is strong and believable and they all hold their own. There are new faces that add a freshness to the film.

The screenplay parallels Stallone's life as a family man and an actor. We can see through his words that he has learned from the mistakes he made and is now giving something back.

If it wasn't for one particularly laughable scene this movie would be great, but instead it is just good.
