"Exit Wounds "

By Ted Pfeifer

Steven Seagal is back in a big way. "Exit Wounds" marks the return of one of Hollywood's big time action stars. Seagal's performance brings back memories of "Above the Law" not of the guitar playing Tibetan monk thing he had goin' on for a while.

Singer DMX stars along with Seagal in a fantastic follow up for director Andrej Bartkowiak's "Romeo Must Die". Joining Seagal and DMX are Isaiah Washington, Michael Jai White, Bill Duke, Tom Arnold and Anthony Anderson who is quickly becoming one fabulous comic relief actor.

The film revolves around crooked cops and the whole who do you trust scenario. Throw in drugs, sex, fast cars, great fight scenes and you've got a strong action flick. Even though the story may seem likes it been done before, there are some good twists. The action sequences are fast and furious and keep the pace of the film going. There are some perfectly placed comic bits thrown in throughout the film and make sure you stay during the credits as Anderson and Arnold feed off one another in what is basically to guys cracking jokes, the crowd I was with applauded after they were finished.

It is great to see Seagal back at the top of his game and hopefully he will make more films like this. DMX and Isaiah Washington are going to become big players in Hollywood because they both have a strong screen presence. Get in line, buy a ticket and Enter "Exit Wounds"
