"Frequency" Get past the weather caused time travel issue, and this film works.

By Ted Pfeifer

Set your dial and tune in. "FREQUENCY" is a movie that works if you buy off on the time travel aspect.

The movie starts out slow but turns into a fantastic thriller. Dennis Quaid stars as a firefighter in 1969 and Jim Caviezel stars as his son who happens to be a detective in 1999. Now, here is the part you need to believe for the movie to work, there is a weather phenomenon that happens and it makes it so the father and son can communicate via a ham radio from thirty years apart.

The movie begins with setting up the relationship of the father and son and it is quite touching. As Caviezel finds his fathers old ham radio, he turns it on and suddenly he is speaking to his deceased father. Through some twists, he is able to tell his father when and how he died. Quaid takes his sons advice and survives. This changes the world that Caviezel is living in. This also changes the lives of his father and mother. The thrills start happening and a mystery begins.

The movie really picks up and powers to a great ending. There are some good laughs and shocks. The audience I was with applauded during and after the film. This is a crowd pleaser and should do fairly well at the box office. A nice touch is the emotional connection between the two leading men. "FREQUENCY" will touch you, if you let it.
