"The Insider" Mann, you won't believe it's a true story.

By Ted Pfeifer

Director Michael Mann put together one heck of a film when he made "The Insider". This is the story of the behind the scenes and in front of the camera battle that the television show 60 Minutes dealt with while deciding what to do in regards to a story on the tobacco industry.

Russel Crowe plays a man who knows that the tobacco industry knew all along that nicotine was addictive and dangerous to your health. He decided to come clean and tell what he knew, but there were much larger forces involved that wanted him to keep quiet.

Al Pacino and Christopher Plummer also take part in the film along with Crowe and all three give great performances. Crowe won numerous critics awards for his acting and can next be seen in the film "Gladiator". The reason why this movie is so good is beacuse they took a story that most people knew and actually made it thrilling to watch. Michael Mann has done great work in the past and you should check out "Last of the Mohicans" and "Heat".
