"Jurassic Park III"

By Ted Pfeifer

"Jurassic Park III" is the most relentless thrill ride of the summer.

Joe Johnston has brought life back to the dinosaur saga by making a quick 90 minute adrenaline rush of excitement.

Sam Neill reprises his role of Dr. Alan Grant from the first film in the series, he was sorely missed in the ragged second film. Neill is approached by a wealthy businessman played by William H. Macy and his wife played by Tea Leoni, to take them on a tour of the famous dinosaur island. What the good Dr. doesn't know is that the couple has a reason for going there and it is no to sight see.

Neill fits right back into the skin of Dr. Grant and gave me a comfort level that this would be a good movie. Macy lends a good dose of humor to the film and Leoni carries the sole women role with grace.

The movie is filled with new dinosaurs along with a mix of the old, like the T-Rex and the Raptors. The movie doesn't waste a lot of its time with the characters relationships or cheesy love story. It makes its point and moves on, which is great because it gets us back to the dinosaurs.

Johnston should be commended for having the guts to make a movie that isn't two hours long and doesn't have a bunch of goody goody fairy tale sweetness to it.

The special effects once again are amazing. Fans of the first will love this movie and of course it sets itself up for a fourth. If they keep the same core group I say, sign me up for another trip to the park.
