"Magnolia" More than a Boogie Night.

By Ted Pfeifer

The Best film of 1999. Plain and simple "MAGNOLIA" is an amazing film. From the first time I saw it I was astounded.

Paul Thomas Anderson is a real talent and will be around for a long time. It has been just that, a long time, since somebody came along with back to back films as powerful as "Boogie Nights" and "Magnolia". Anderson is able to get great performances out of all of his actors. Tom Cruise won the Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes should have gotten the Oscar but he is young and Michael Caine is old.

Anderson weaves several different stories that come together in the end. You will be thrown for a loop at the end and when you think about it, it all makes sense. At over three hours long it is on two tapes but only one DVD so go out and get a DVD player to experience and amazing film.
