"Scooby-Doo" is a ton of fun.

I took my kids to see "Scooby-Doo" hoping for one thing and one thing only. That one thing was to not be bored by a horrible piece of Hollywood movie making. And what I got was a great time.

Now you may say that I had low expectations, but I wouldn't. I have just been watching so many episodes of "Scooby-Doo" on the Cartoon Network that I didn't want them to ruin such a fun show.

I have to say that the live action film version of "Scooby-Doo" hits on all cylinders, it is campy, kooky and just plain silly. The stand out is Matthew Lillard as Shaggy. He nails the walk and the talk of the cartoon version. It is absolutely amazing. If there was an Oscar category of copying a character than Lillard would walk away with it.

The rest of Mystery Inc, is Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Freddie Prinze Jr as Fred and Linda Cardellini as Velma. They all do fine jobs with their updated version of their characters. I have no complaints about the casting of this film. Last but not least, Scooby-Doo himself is all computer generated. Sure at times you can tell but that is half of the fun.

The plot for the film is just like those of the cartoon, the gang is on the job to find out who is behind some hunting's.

Director Raja Gosnell has fun with the story and makes it cartoon-ish without losing some sense of realism.

The soundtrack is upbeat and fun and the actors looked like they had a good time making the movie.

But in the end the only thing that mattered was if the movie was a hit with its target audience and I would have to say after seeing the huge smiles on my kids faces that the movie was a success.

I also had fun with it and call me crazy but I wouldn't mind seeing it again.
