"Space Cowboys" This Group Definately Has the Right Stuff.

By Ted Pfeifer

A truly wonderful film. "Space Cowboys" proves that you do not need young sexy actors, bad language, nudity or huge car chases and explosions to have a great movie. Clint Eastwood directs himself, Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland, and James Garner as well as others in a movie that grabs a hold of you early and does not let go.

It starts out forty years ago and shows the four of them as young hot shot pilots in the Air Force. Different actors play the men in their youth but the voices are by the fab four themselves. It adds to the believability of the characters. This movie is a joy to watch. When they were younger, NASA was created and so their chance to go to space was eliminated, James Cromwell plays their superior in the Air Force and is now a head at NASA. A Russian satellite is spinning towards earth and needs to be stopped. All the technology used to build the satellite is from forty years before, so Eastwood and his buddies are the only ones that can fix the satellite.

The movie has a boat load of laughs as we see the men go through the tests and preparations to become astronauts in today's day and age. Tension mounts as the scene shifts into space and Eastwood shows once again why he is not only a great actor but fantastic director. All of the acting is right on and the music plays right along. All facets of this film work together to give you a great movie going experience. If you want a movie that is worth the money you spend to get in, than go see "Space Cowboys"
