"Wonderboys" Here's Your Second Chance.

By Ted Pfeifer

You may have seen "Wonder Boys" last February when it was first released and if you did than you were in the minority. Paramount Pictures released the film but then it was gone. Although the people who saw it enjoyed it, not enough people went to see it. So Paramount has redone the trailers and advertising and is releasing it again.

Michael Douglas stars in a great ensemble cast which includes Toby Maguire, Frances McDormand, Katies Holmes and a great performance by Robert Downey Jr. Curtis Hansen the Director of the supurb "L.A. Confidential" once again delivers a fantastic film. It all takes place during one long crazy weekend with Douglas as an English Professor who is trying to complete a follow up to his highly acclaimed first novel.

But he is currently going through a separation with his third wife, an affair with his boses wife, his editor is pushing him to finish his book, a cute young student is living with him and has a cruch on him and now his prize student who has the most talent is also the most obscure, strange and is a mystery.

Throw in a dog being killed and transvestite and some pot smoking and you have a film filled with craziness that in the end makes everything right. If you missed "Wonder Boys" during its initial release, don't make the mistake again. "Wonder Boys" is a wonder of a movie.
